Pennsylvania is well represented at the National Children's Advocacy Center for the Forensic Interviewer training!

We’ve got amazing people from Butler, Centre, Clearfield, Juniata, and Blair Counties learning the invaluable skill of forensic interviewing. This will ensure kids and teens in PA get the best response to child abuse.

Limiting the traumatic experience of a child abuse investigation starts with the child centered, non-duplicative approach CACs provide!

We were honored to meet with Senator Vogel and discuss the critical work being done by Children's Advocacy Centers across Pennsylvania.

Your continued support of the Children's Advocacy Center of Butler County and your commitment to protecting children is truly appreciated.

Today, I had the opportunity to meet with Danielle Schmidt (right side in photo), Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County, and Mikele Bay, Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of McKean County, as part of Children’s Advocacy Center Hill Day.

We discussed the important work Children’s Advocacy Centers do to support children and families affected by abuse by bringing together law enforcement, child welfare professionals, medical providers, mental health experts, and victim advocates in a coordinated, child-focused approach.

Thank you to Danielle and Mikele for taking the time to share more about the services they provide and the impact their organizations have on children and families across Pennsylvania. I appreciate their dedication to helping young people and supporting families during difficult times.

Looking forward to this opportunity!

Looking forward to this opportunity!

Children's Advocacy Centers of Pennsylvania and CAC leaders from across the Commonwealth are heading to the Capitol on Tuesday, June 2, to advocate for H.B. 2443, legislation that would begin closing the $14.5 million funding gap CACs face statewide.

CACs currently operate with an average $300,000 annual shortfall per center, even as they provide essential investigative coordination and trauma‑informed support to children from the moment child abuse is suspected.

H.B. 2443, introduced by Rep. Kyle Mullins and PA State Rep. Jim Rigby, would create a Child Victim Recovery Fund supported by fees paid by child sexual abuse offenders — not taxpayers. It is projected to generate $3–4 million annually.

📅 Join us at 2pm in the East Wing Rotunda for a press conference where CAC leaders and their multidisciplinary partners will highlight the life-changing work they do and the need for additional stable, sustainable funding.

🌱🤝 After the successful launch of our Volunteer Portal in partnership with the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce Community Service Committee has shifted its focus toward amplifying and supporting existing community events across Butler County each month.

In April, committee members volunteered at the Strike Out Child Abuse Bowling Event hosted by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Butler County, helping with event setup and support efforts. In May, we partnered with the Butler AM Rotary Club for their annual community flower planting event. 🌸🌼

We are incredibly proud of the volunteers who continue to step up and serve our community, and grateful to our members who always answer the bell when there is a need. 💪❤️
