Wow! We were blown away by the response to our open house yesterday! We welcomed over 500 people to the new Butler County Aging Resource Center. Thank you to all of the legislators, our board members, and partners of the Area Agency on Aging who were able to join us at our open house luncheon. Special thank you to The Nutrition Group for sponsoring the event and providing a wonderful meal and snacks for our evening open house. Lastly, thank you to our amazing front desk volunteers for assisting with the event, both day and night - we are so grateful! 🥕🌽🍅🥬 We still have Senior Farm Market Vouchers remaining! Distribution Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (thru August or while supplies last) at our office, 215 N. Duffy Road, Butler. Participants are only eligible to receive one set of vouchers per person, annually.

💰Financial exploitation can be hard to see 👀

It can happen gradually and often involves someone the older adult knows and trusts. Early reporting matters. The sooner concerns are reported, the better chance of protecting the older adult and documenting what happened

Capacity is NOT all-or-nothing. An older adult may be able to make some decisions, but not others. Our goal is to match the response to a persons needs, abilities and level of risks.

Self neglect is complicated. Not every dangerous situation is caused by another person. Some concerns involve an older adult struggling to meet their OWN needs safely.

🏡From in-home support and transportation assistance to caregiver resources and free Medicare counseling (PA MEDI), AAAs connect you to the services you need to live safely and independently, and stay connected in your community.
AAAs also offer nutrition programs, health and wellness education, protective services, and senior community centers, all designed to help older adults age with dignity wherever they call home.
