This weekend brings family, friends, and grilling—but also increased fire risk.

Before you light the grill:
• Keep it at least 10 feet from anything that can burn
• Never leave it unattended
• Clean grease buildup to prevent flare-ups
• Keep a bucket of water, hose, or an extinguisher nearby

Most grill fires are preventable. Stay present, stay safe.

Each year, approximately 9,500 people are burned from grill fires or hot grills. To help keep you and your loved ones safe, NFPA® tests your knowledge and de...

With pools, lakes, and parties this weekend, emergencies increase fast.

A few reminders that save lives:
• Never swim alone
• Don’t mix alcohol and swimming
• Watch children at ALL times—drowning is silent
• Use life jackets on boats, even for strong swimmers

Have fun—but make sure you make it home safely.

In an emergency, every second counts. Clear and visible address numbers help emergency responders locate your home or business quickly, reducing delays and improving response times.

Make sure your address is:

Clearly visible from the roadway
Large enough to be read day and night
Not blocked by trees, vehicles, or decorations
Well-lit if possible

This simple step can make a critical difference when it matters most!

Store chemicals safely to reduce fire and health risks. Keep hazardous materials in a well-ventilated shed or detached storage area away from your home, heat sources, and living spaces.

Proper storage helps prevent accidental exposure, fires, and chemical reactions, keeping your home and family safer.

Happy Mother’s Day from the Worthington Township Fire Department.

Today we celebrate all of the amazing moms in our community — especially the mothers who serve on our department and the ones who support firefighters and first responders at home.

Whether responding to calls, helping keep the department running, or waiting up late for loved ones to come home safely, your dedication, strength, patience, and sacrifice never go unnoticed.

A special thank you to: Karen, DonaLe, Jessica, Krystal, Debbie, Dotti, Anne, Cora, Bri, Kyann, Alisha, Debra, and all of the other amazing moms that help keep this department running.

Thank you for everything you do for your families, our department, and our community. We hope all of the amazing mothers out there have a safe and relaxing Mother’s Day.
