the Borough of Butler is expected to receive significant snowfall and blizzard conditions beginning Sunday morning through mid day Monday, with periods of heavy snow, strong winds, and reduced visibility anticipated throughout the day.
Residents are reminded to move all vehicles
off Borough streets and roadways prior to the start of the storm.
Vehicles left on the street may impede snowplowing and emergency operations and may be subject to ticketing or towing in accordance with Borough ordinances.
To help ensure public safety and to allow crews to operate efficiently, residents are encouraged to take the following precautions:
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm, particularly during peak snowfall and high wind periods
• Park vehicles in driveways or other off-street locations
• Secure trash cans, recycling bins, and other loose outdoor items that may become airborne due to high winds
• Charge cell phones and electronic devices in advance
• Prepare for the possibility of power outages by having flashlights, batteries, and essential supplies readily available
• Check that sump pumps and generators are functioning properly
• Use caution when operating generators and space heaters
• Maintain a minimum 3-foot clearance around fire hydrants to ensure access for emergency responders
The Borough’s Public Works, Electric, Police, Fire, and Emergency Services Departments will be actively monitoring conditions and responding throughout the duration of the storm. Snow removal operations will begin as conditions warrant and will continue until roadways are cleared.
