On May 18, 2026, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed maintaining the current federal drinking water standards for PFOA and PFOS while allowing eligible drinking water systems to request up to two additional years, through 2031, to meet enforceable compliance limits associated with the full PFAS chemical class.

The proposed mechanism does not change the PFOA and PFOS MCLs, which remain 4.0 parts per trillion each.

As federal PFAS regulations continue to develop, SGWASA remains firmly on track in its efforts to address PFAS in the water supply. The Authority is actively advancing design work, additional pilot testing, and treatment evaluations to meet the current federally mandated PFAS compliance deadline of April 26, 2029.

In partnership with CDM Smith, SGWASA is leveraging technical expertise, pilot testing, funding coordination, and long-term planning to move its PFAS mitigation program forward responsibly and effectively.

SGWASA is proactively positioned and on target with the PFAS mitigation process in motion.

The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors adopted the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget during its May 2026 Board of Directors meeting. The adopted budget maintains current water and sewer rates for customers while supporting essential operations, debt service obligations, infrastructure maintenance, and long-term financial planning.

There is no increase to current water or sewer rates.

Customer fee adjustments adopted for FY2026–2027 are related to delinquent account handling. The late payment rate remains 1.5 percent for qualifying past-due balances; however, the minimum late payment fee increases from $10 to $15. The nonpayment fee increases from $75 to $100. Customers who pay their bills by the established due date will not be affected by these delinquency-related fee adjustments.

SGWASA encourages customers to take advantage of eBill by selecting “Pay My Bill” from the header of the official SGWASA website.
