Today, the Town of Butner held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

🐾 If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! During extreme heat, walk your pets early in the morning or late in the evening. Reduce outdoor activities and ensure they have plenty of fresh water and shade.

All Town administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

Regular hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, May 26, at 8:00 a.m.

This week, we recognize National Public Works Week and extend sincere appreciation to our Public Works team for their service to the community. Their work supports nearly every aspect of daily operations, including maintaining town owned roads, facilities, and parks, assisting with community events, responding in all types of weather conditions, and more.

We are grateful for their professionalism, reliability, and continued commitment to serving our residents and helping keep our community running smoothly!

The Town of Butner is pleased to announce that Mayor Dr. Linda Jordon has been elected to serve on the North Carolina Mayors Association (NCMA) Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term.

Mayor Jordon was elected by unanimous vote during the NCMA Annual Meeting held on May 5. The NCMA Board of Directors is made up of municipal leaders from across the state who work together to support and advocate for North Carolina communities.
