Without further ado, we are excited to officially release this year’s Moving Mountains recipients.

This year, we received a total of 62 nominations. That final push for Youth nominations made decisions EXTREMELY difficult — and honestly, what a wonderful problem to have. This town is filled with incredible humans, and our future looks incredibly bright.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients. Your compassion, leadership, service, and commitment to making our community better do not go unnoticed. We are honored to celebrate each of you.

Please join us for the 2026 Moving Mountains Award Ceremony:

Tuesday, June 9, 2026
10:30 A.M.
Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse

Recipients, please contact Brittany Masters at 406-498-9584 to confirm whether or not you will be attending the ceremony to accept your award. If you are unable to attend, we kindly ask that you let us know if someone will be accepting the award on your behalf or if arrangements should be made to get it to you following the event. A quick confirmation call is appreciated either way.

Recipients should also be receiving an official letter in the mail within the next day or so.

Congratulations again to this year’s Moving Mountains recipients. What an honor it is to celebrate the people helping shape a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.

Tonight was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses to pour into its youth.

For many years now, Butte Cares has been incredibly proud to support Mariah’s Challenge and the mission behind it all. A mission rooted in prevention, hope, leadership, and creating safer, healthier futures for young people and families throughout our community. As an organization, we stand firm in the message to “Grow Old.” We love this community deeply, and we take immense pride in continuing to invest in the youth and families who make this place so special.

Tonight’s scholarship ceremony was filled with powerful reminders about grit, integrity, leadership, and the importance of the people we choose to surround ourselves with. One message shared by Joe McClafferty especially stood out… just how far a strong support system can take you in life. It truly matters who stands beside you.

Congratulations to all of the Class of 2026 recipients, along with the many recipients throughout the years who continue to carry these values forward into the world. Your community is proud of you.

A special shoutout as well to tonight’s wonderful MC, Paul Panisko, for helping make the evening so meaningful, and of course to Leo McCarthy, the heart behind it all. The impact of this work continues to ripple through generations here in Butte America.

We have received a WHOPPING 33 Moving Mountains nominations, which is absolutely incredible 💙

BUT… only ONE nomination so far has been for an actual youth.

And I KNOW there are some amazing students in this community showing up for their peers, helping others, leading with kindness, volunteering, overcoming challenges, and quietly doing really good things every single day.

If you know a high school student (or younger) deserving of recognition, NOW is the time to nominate them.

Let’s make sure our youth know they are seen, valued, and appreciated too 💙

Nomination window will stay open until Friday. SHARE AWAY. Link in the comments.

Some days are loud. Some days are heavy. Some days just take more out of us than others.

Give yourself permission to slow down, check in, and take care of your mind the same way you would your body. Healing, growth, and wellness are not one size fits all, and you do not have to figure it all out alone 💙

Shout out to our counterpart in Madison County!!!

We’re grateful to help shine a light on the amazing work happening across our communities. 💙

Sheridan’s Community Fun Night was such a beautiful example of prevention, connection, and community coming together. From healthy choice activities and games, to shared meals, books, laughter, and an unforgettable color run, the evening created meaningful opportunities for youth and families to connect in positive ways.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night possible, including the incredible student volunteers, Sheridan Library, Superintendent Rodney Stout, and all of the community members who showed up to support one another.

This is what building strong, healthy communities looks like, and we love seeing it happen across Montana.

💙 What an amazing night! 💙
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Community Fun Night—we truly couldn’t have asked for a better evening.
It was so great seeing kids and adults laughing, connecting, and just enjoying time together. From the walking tacos (a big hit!) and flavored popcorn, to games, t-shirt creations focused on healthy choices, and the Sheridan Library book giveaway (such a fun added touch!)—there was something for everyone.
The color run was the perfect way to end the night, and seeing everyone out there together made it something really special.
A big thank you to the high school students who helped carry everything to the truck—we appreciate you more than you know.
And a very special thank you to Rodney Stout, Sheridan Superintendent and Elementary Principal, for providing the space and helping make this event possible.
Most of all, thank you to our community for showing up, supporting one another, and making this night what it is.
💙 We’re already looking forward to next year!

Showing up for our community, together.

Butte Cares, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Butte, was proud to support District 9 Clean Up Day. These incredible volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work, helping create cleaner, safer spaces for everyone.

This is prevention in action. Strong communities, connected people, and pride in where we live.
