Welcome to the Butte-Silver Bow Police Department! We recently hired three sworn Officers, Tucker Fulton (Badge #154), Dale Reynolds (Badge #155), and Payton Zeiler (Badge #156). All three were recently sworn in by the honorable Judge Whelan and Sheriff Lester. Officers Fulton, Reynolds, and Zeiler will be heading to the Montana Law Enforcement Academy at the beginning of September. On their return they will continue their training while beginning their careers serving our community in the Field Training Officer program.

Please congratulate Officer Lisa Howe, Badge #90, on her retirement after 26 years in law enforcement. Officer Howe spent her first 5 years with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office before coming home to Butte where she served our community with honor for 19 years. Thank you for your service and good luck with the next chapter!

Congratulations to 911 Communications Officer Clarissa Pearl Cooper who graduated today from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy Public Safety Communications Basic. Pearl also received the Most Inspirational Student award!

This afternoon our department was notified of a fire off of Highway 43 in the Divide area. Butte FD and Volunteers have responding and are on scene working the fire as well as fire services from the Forest Service.

Butte Police Public Advisory

The Butte Police Department is aware of recent overdose incidents that may be linked to co***ne contaminated with fentanyl.

At this time, these reports have not been confirmed. However, in the interest of public safety, we are issuing this advisory out of an abundance of caution.

The Butte Police Department strongly discourages the use of any illicit drugs.

Anyone who chooses to use street drugs should be aware that any illicit substance may be contaminated with fentanyl, which can be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.

If you suspect someone is experiencing an opioid overdose, call 911 immediately.

Signs of an opioid overdose may include slowed or stopped breathing, unresponsiveness, inability to wake up, blue or gray lips or fingernails, choking or gurgling sounds, or extreme drowsiness.
If naloxone (Narcan) is available, administer it as soon as possible and follow the instructions provided with the medication.

Naloxone can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and may save a life. Continue to monitor the person and provide assistance until emergency responders arrive.
