The 2026 Summit - the first in a decade - will build a strategic roadmap to increase the percentage of Montana food bought in-state from 3% to 33% by 2033.

The Summit brings Montanans together to celebrate progress made in Montana's food and farming, build networks, and develop collaborative action plans that grow and strengthen Montana's supply chain.

SJ11 will have its vote House Floor soon and we need supporters to reach out to their Representative and ask them to vote "Yes".

Call the Capitol Switchboard at 406-444-4800
The switchboard is open 7 AM to 5:30 PM M-F.

When calling, state your name, where you are located, and ask to speak to your representative. The operator will connect you to your representative’s messaging service where you can provide your request or input on a particular bill or issue.

This study would bring investment and attention to Montana Farmers Markets and local food systems, with the goal of finding ways to make markets stronger, more successful, in turn increasing the health of Montana communities. SJ 11 has passed the Senate and the House Agriculture Committee, and now just needs to pass the House Floor vote.

Please call your Representative and ask them to vote YES on SJ 11.

Check it out! This podcast episode of "Voices from the Field" from the National Center for Appropriate Technology - NCAT features Grow Montana's coordinator Maura Henn in conversation with Indigenous Food Sovereignty Consultant Cheyenne Robinson to talk about their project “Understanding Through Listening: Connecting with Native Food Ways in Montana.” Listen here: https://buff.ly/4eU2KbE

Indigenous Food Sovereignty Consultant Cheyenne Robinson joined NCAT's Maura Henn and Molly Kirkham to talk about their project, “Understanding Through Listening: Connecting with Native Food Ways in Montana,” in a recent episode of our podcast, Voices from the Field.

The project focused on holding listening sessions in Native American communities in Montana, primarily on Indian reservations, to learn if community members would be interested in developing an Indigenous Harvest of the Month program. Harvest of the Month is a farm-to-school educational framework designed to promote locally grown food in Montana schools and communities.

Maura, Molly, and Cheyenne talk about what they learned conducting the sessions, the process of developing the listening-session framework, and what their next steps will be. Listen here: https://buff.ly/4eU2KbE

With the 2024 election just weeks away, Grow Montana is excited to share the results of our recent survey with this year’s Montana Legislative Candidates. We invited both House and Senate candidates to complete an emailed survey to share their views on important food and agriculture issues. The survey was also meant as an opportunity to introduce the coalition to candidates and share a few resources to learn more about the work our coalition cares about, such as soil health, food and nutrition access, and mid-scale processing. Visit the link below for more information and links to the survey and candidate responses:
