The tour consists of a brief presentation on the history of the tule elk herd, followed by a tour of the visitor center, and a guided tour of the reserve to view the magnificent tule elk. Bring binoculars to view the wildlife at the reserve.

Nine of the Tule elk from the Tule Elk State Natural Reserve were relocated to the Tule River Indian tribal lands last month.

Tribal leaders and Gov. Gavin Newsom gathered Wednesday to mark the return of 17,000 acres of ancestral land to the Tule River Indian tribe.
