Community Information/Feedback Sessions!
Please join us in the Triton High School Library for the first community forums exploring the future of Triton MS and Triton HS. These identical sessions will be an opportunity for the community to meet the MSBA building project team, learn about the work that has taken place to date, and provide feedback regarding educational goals & proposed administrative structures. We hope to see you there!

Triton Regional School District Announces Selection of Dore + Whittier as Designer for MSBA Feasibility Study

Triton Regional School District — Triton Regional School District is pleased to announce the selection of Dore + Whittier Architects of Newburyport, MA as the designer for the Triton Regional Middle/High School Feasibility Study, in partnership with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA). The firm was approved by the MSBA Designer Selection Panel on April 7, 2026, and work is already underway.

The selection follows a rigorous, MSBA-governed designer selection process overseen by the District's Owner's Project Manager, PMA Consultants. Dore + Whittier's Newburyport office is located just 6.5 miles from the Triton campus, and the firm brings direct, relevant experience to this project having previously designed the Pine Grove School renovation in Rowley, as well as more than 20 MSBA core program projects across Massachusetts, including the Pentucket Regional Middle/High School in neighboring West Newbury.

"We are excited to have Dore + Whittier on board," said Superintendent Brian Forget. "Their track record with the MSBA, their experience within our own district at Pine Grove, and their genuine connection to our communities made them a standout choice. This is an important moment for Triton, and we are confident we have the ideal team to help us get it right, for our students, our staff, and all three of our contributing towns."

A hallmark of Dore + Whittier's approach is robust community engagement, which the District views as essential for a regional project spanning three distinct towns. Public forums, interactive workshops, and outreach across Newbury, Rowley, and Salisbury will ensure that residents, families, students, and staff have meaningful opportunities to shape the direction of the project.

"A project like this belongs to everyone," said Superintendent Forget. "We want every family, every taxpayer, and every community member in Newbury, Rowley, and Salisbury to feel informed, heard, and invested in the outcome. Dore + Whittier shares that commitment, and we look forward to building something together that this region can be proud of for generations."

Following the April 7th MSBA approval, the District, Dore + Whittier, and PMA Consultants moved quickly. The team has already begun mapping out initial steps and timeline planning, and Dore + Whittier presented their approach to the School Building Committee (SBC) on April 23, 2026. That presentation, which included an overview of the proposed project schedule, early design thinking, and community engagement planning, is available for public viewing on the Triton School Building Committee YouTube channel.

While a definitive timeline is still being refined, the District's goal is to bring a project forward to the communities for a vote as efficiently as possible. Every month of delay carries real costs, in building repairs, construction cost escalation, and educational impact, and all parties are committed to maintaining momentum.

The district will continue to provide updates as the project progresses through the MSBA process.

This video was published to the project website in September 2025 to (1) help explain what the MSBA is, (2) overview the MSBA funding assistance process, and (3) highlight immediate next steps. The District's pre-work and core values are reviewed as well. Please note that since this video was published, the Owner's Project Manager (PMA Consultants) was hired in January 2026 and the Designer (Dore + Whittier) was hired in April 2026. The schedule is currently being refined and will be published once finalized.
