Latest update from Entergy:
Hurricane Francine made landfall in Terrebonne Parish, LA as a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds and moved North into Mississippi overnight Wednesday night. The storm weakened fairly quickly and currently has been downgraded to a tropical depression. However, gusty winds will continue as the storm moves through the state and flash flooding & tornadoes are still possible. Outages are expected to continue increasing today as the storm moves through Entergy’s service territory.
Entergy MS experienced our peak customer outages of 10,792 at 7:00am.
Current, we have about 8200 customers out with the majority of those being in Hinds, Madison & Simpson counties.
We have started restoring service to our customers where it is safe to do so and we continue to assess damage to our system caused by Francine. When restoration starts, keep in mind that if you don’t see us working near you, we may be working on another part of the electrical system that you can’t see but that must be repaired to get power to you.
