🚤☀️ Warmer Weather is Here – Let’s Stay Safe on the Water, Pickett County! ☀️🚤

As temperatures rise and more folks head out to enjoy Tennessee’s beautiful lakes and waterways, the Pickett County Rescue Squad wants to remind everyone to make boating safety a top priority. Before you head out:
✅ Always wear a life jacket – it can save your life
✅ Make sure your boat is equipped with proper safety gear (life vests, fire extinguisher, whistle/horn)
✅ Never operate a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs
✅ Check the weather conditions before launching
✅ Let someone know your plans and expected return time
✅ Keep a safe speed and be aware of other boaters and swimmers

Parents: please keep a close eye on children around the water at all times.

Our crews are ready to respond when needed, but prevention is the best protection. Let’s work together to make this a safe and enjoyable boating season for everyone in our community.

If you see an emergency on the water, call 911 immediately.
Stay safe and enjoy the water responsibly! 🇺🇸

It has come to our attention that someone is going door to door and asking for donations to the rescue squad. None of the Pickett County Rescue Squad members are going door to door asking for donations.
