In the high 70s, just sat on a bench in the greenbelt and watched the furries play. The water “feature” is rain pond permaculture added to control the water in a place that floods. Might not be saying that right. Max didn’t jump in praise be. Greenbelts should be in all neighborhoods.

I woke straight up in bed thinking, “ I need to pick and process tomatoes.” After canning many things last year I realized I don’t eat it all, so only process what we love. We ate all the tomato products, the eggplant appetizers and peaches. So…. it begins.

Monday walk, Max and Fidel played, Jennifer was smart enough to wear boots, muddy and chiggars. The cats climbed every tree and we all admired Jesus’ squash. The vineyard is happy, the sun is out and it’s not oppressive heat.

Linda Dibello said we could pick some of her flowers. The strawberry hydrangeas and sunflowers are from her garden. Merlin helped, he skipped the walk back. Sue went with us and had clippers, she deadheads on her walks, I appreciate that as she got mine as well.

Sunny morning, steamy but sunshine. Took the furries for a walk to pick flowers. Neighbors have several fairy dances going on in their yard, Sadly not edible mushrooms. Coming down the home stretch which was not long, the cats are panting with their mouths open. I “think” walk, and Max heads for the hall, leash, bag, then the sounds of cat feet thumping down the stairs to come, how do they know? So quiet , I only saw Andrew Watts and he was talking Max out of not getting in his car. Andrew has one of those voices that is almost musical, so upbeat and kind.

CSC Work Party 2: Becky and Bev, Milo, children’s garden where they are making a weaving (fence? art?) it is art. I saw a fairy garden in front of one of the buildings.

The best part of summer, besides tomatoes and the pool, is a walk to pick flowers and herbs. August brings the muted shades that are my favorite. Purples and violet say chill, it’s hot outside. One of the original colorologists was artist Ron Sackman who lived in Stelle with his wife Connie in the 80s. He would do our colors, mine, surprise, surprise was summer and muted colors. They brought such a gift to Stelle with their beautiful lives, California called them back, but those times….. we keep all Stelle folks in our hearts forever.
