UPDATE: The railroad crossing is back open and traffic has resumed. After investigating and speaking with the Train Engineer, we do not believe any pedestrian was struck by the train. Our officers and drone operators conducted a search of the area out of any abundance of caution before releasing the scene.

This Memorial Day, the Cabot Police Department pauses to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we have today, and their courage will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends, may we also take time to remember the true meaning of this day.

From all of us at the Cabot Police Department, we honor them, we remember them, and we are forever grateful.

The Cabot Police Department is recruiting junior officers for a special needs Junior Police Academy Day Camp. It will take place Saturday July 11th, from 9:00am until noon. Designed to serve kids and young adults 5 years old to 25 years old with disabilities, the day camp will focus on their abilities and give them an opportunity to experience what itโ€™s like to be a police cadet. These junior officers will be provided a t-shirt, lunch for the cadet and their family, and a graduation certificate. The cadets will rotate through several stations of police related activities. There will be handcuffing, batons, fingerprinting, NERF guns, SWAT gear, and more. Everyone must register to attend and more information will be sent to your email after registration. The day camp is limited to the first 75 completed registrations.

This event is free due to generous community donations, police department and community volunteers, and our continued partnership with the Cabot School District for our JPA Programs.

Last night, the Cabot community came together in an incredible way for the very first โ€œSummer Starts Hereโ€ program. And what a success it was!

Sponsored by our Cabot Police Foundation and thanks to an amazing partnership between the City Of Cabot, the Cabot Police Department, the Cabot Fire Department, Game Time at the Grounds, and so many local businesses and individual donors, we were able to serve nearly 150 students right here in the Cabot School District area.

This invitation-only outreach event was designed to help bridge the gap for local students as they begin summer break by providing essential summer supplies and support to families who need it most. School counselors helped identify students and families who could benefit from this program, ensuring resources reached those with the greatest need.

โœ… Kids got haircuts
โœ… Families shared a meal
โœ… Police officers and firefighters got play with kids
โœ… Summer clothing was given out
โœ… Snacks went home
โœ… Families and kids had games and crafts
โœ… Our community was served

More than anything, last night was about community. It was about neighbors helping neighbors, public servants giving back, and making sure our kids start the summer feeling supported, encouraged, and cared for.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, partnered, and worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. Thank you to the First Lady of Cabot, Mrs. Amanda Kincade for the vision and heart for this event! The smiles on the faces of these kids reminded us all why programs like this matter so much.

Cabot truly is a special place. โค๏ธ

Today, nearly 30 participants from the City of Cabot proudly took part in the Arkansas Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting Special Olympics Arkansas and the incredible athletes we serve.

Officers from the Cabot Police Department, Cabot Fire Department firefighters, and Mayor Kincade came together as officers proudly carried the Flame of Hope through the City Of Cabot and showed our communityโ€™s continued commitment to inclusion, support, and service.

We are honored to stand beside these amazing athletes and help make a difference through the Arkansas Torch Run. Cabot is proud to support Special Olympics, because every athlete deserves a champion and an opportunity!
