🎬 FREE MOVIE IN THE PARK! 🍿

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us at dusk on Thursday, July 2 for a free community movie night at the Rotary Pavilion.

Presented by Cadillac Professional Firefighters Local 704, this family-friendly event is a great way to kick off Freedom Festival weekend.

A special thank you to our local firefighters for helping bring this tradition to our community.

📈WHAT THE STUDIES TELL US 📈

📊Rigorous, independent research proves that numbers on the apparatus directly translate to lives saved:

The NIST Landmark Study: Controlled live-burn research by the National Institute of Standards and Technology demonstrated that larger crews complete critical fireground tasks up to 30% faster than understaffed teams.

The FSRI Health & Safety Study: Research by the Fire Safety Research Institute confirms that the 4-person baseline is a floor, not a ceiling. Moving to a 5-person model dramatically reduces extreme physical exhaustion, limits rapid fire growth, and minimizes toxic gas exposures.

Real-World Performance Outcomes: Field simulations evaluating engine crew sizes showed that adding personnel yields an 11% faster time to put water on the fire, a 27% faster victim removal time, and a staggering 74% improvement in establishing a reliable water supply.

As we go into a nice weekend, we wanted to remind everyone of the rules for recreational fires within the city limits!

- A fire-pit must be contained and at least 25 feet away from any structures (fences are included).

- If you do not have 25 feet of clear distance, you can purchase an enclosed outdoor fireplace. An enclosed outdoor fireplace can be a minimum of 15 feet away from any structures. Enclosed fireplaces must be UL listed and approved.

- Dry round lumber is the only material that you are allowed to burn. The burning of yard waste, trash, building materials, etc., is strictly prohibited.

- Recreational fires must less than 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet or less in height.

- If at any point during your recreational fire smoke becomes an issue for any neighbor, you will have to extinguish your fire.

- If your recreational fire becomes out of control, you may be held responsible for any damages to private and/or public property.
