There's so many opportunities to make lifelong memories while camping at Wm. Mitchell State Park! Did you know participants in weekly fishing programs at our visitor center have the opportunity to earn certificates?

Upcoming fishing programs at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting & Fishing Center:
-> Tues., 7/28: Backyard Bass, 11AM
-> Wed., 7/29: Tackle Craft (DIY lure making), 3PM
-> Thurs., 7/30: Hook, Line, and Sinker, 11AM
-> Tues., 8/4: Family Fishing, 11AM
-> Wed., 8/5: Family Fishing, 11AM
-> Fri., 8/7: Family Fishing, 11AM
We supply the equipment and bait for all programs, and can teach you everything you need to get started. And... if you forgot your rod and reel and want to fish outside of program times, you may borrow one from our center for FREE! We hope you'll join us!

We can’t believe it’s already the weekend of the 4th! A few reminders as we head into the busy weekend:

- Fireworks are prohibited on state land. Sparklers and noise makers are allowed.

- It’s going to be HOT! Please be sure to stay hydrated, take breaks from the sun, and look out for others!

- If you plan to visit a campsite over the course of the weekend, please remember that only 2 cars per site is allowed. 3rd vehicle parking can be found at our day use area.

- Quiet hours are 10PM-8AM. Please be courteous of those around you so we can all enjoy this beautiful weekend!

🟢 UPDATE 🟢

Our final closure from the spring flooding is re-opening today! Long Lake Missaukee State Forest Campground is OPEN for the season. Huge thanks to our friends at the Grawn Field Office for their work to repair the previously impassable campground road, the before and after is remarkable! We hope to see you out enjoying Long Lake in the coming weeks!

We are still looking to fill 2 summer worker positions at the park for this season! Applications will be accepted until July 1st, and can be picked up and submitted at the park headquarters. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Please free to call us at the park or message us here with any questions! If you or someone you know is still looking for that summer job, consider joining the great team at Mitchell State Park!

Ranger Justin welcomed campers to Wm. Mitchell State Park with help from a special friend. They want to remind everyone about tomorrow's special event: Cadillac West- Classics on the Canal! We can't wait to see the vintage trailers, cars, hand-carved wooden lures, and boats! And don't forget about that amazing performance from Delilah Dewylde!!! See you there!
