On Wednesday afternoon, Rebecca Boening was driving west on I-40 when her blood sugar suddenly dropped to a dangerous level. Thankfully, a Burger King was located at the next exit. Struggling to think clearly due to her low blood sugar, Rebecca placed her order and mentioned to the voice on the speaker that she was diabetic and urgently needed food.
As she pulled up to the first window to pay, she was surprised to see Burger King employee Tina Hardy rushing toward the front of her car. Tina squeezed between the car and the building to bring Rebecca a small serving of ice cream. Later, Tina explained that her husband is also diabetic, and she immediately recognized that Rebecca needed assistance.
After paying, Rebecca moved to Tina window, where Tina handed her the food and instructed her to park across the driveway so she could keep an eye on her until she felt better. Once Rebecca regained her strength, she waited for a quiet moment to return to Tina’s window. She took a picture with Tina and spoke with her supervisor, praising Tina’s kindness and quick thinking.
Rebecca hopes that Tina Hardy will receive the recognition she truly deserves from the public and the leadership at Burger King. If you’re moved by this story, please share it to highlight Tina compassionate act.
