Today, three Harrison County dispatchers and members of the Hopedale and Cadiz Fire Departments were recognized with the Star of Life Award for their lifesaving efforts during a motorcycle accident that occurred in June 2025.
Harrison County Dispatchers Austin Anderson and Kipp Bowers expertly handled emergency communications and coordinated traffic while emergency crews responded to the scene. Dispatcher Jen Bethel, who is also a Basic EMT, was off duty but nearby when the accident occurred. Without hesitation, she responded to the scene and provided lifesaving care until additional crews arrived.
Their quick actions, professionalism, and dedication to serving the community made a critical difference that day. Congratulations to all involved on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your commitment to protecting and serving Harrison County.
