7 Friends Memorial Established December, 1993 “On Wednesday, December 15, 1993, Trigg County experienced a terrible loss, when seven young men were killed in a tragic accident.

Joey Rogers (17), Steven Wallace (17), Dale Garner (16), David Lawrence (16), Jesse Lawrence (16), Jeremy Gordon (16), and Patric Perry (15), were all employees of Knight & Hale Game Calls. While on their dinner break, the car in which they were traveling was involved in a collision with another vehicle. As a result of this loss to the community, there was an outpouring of love and support from al

l over the country. Thus, the families of the boys came together, almost immediately, to form the 7 Friends Memorial Fund, this later became the 7 Friends Memorial Scholarship Fund. Since the formation of the group, many young people in the community have benefited from the generosity of these families. Through the sales of sweatshirts, fundraisers (such a fishing tournament and the annual golf tournament) and donations many local youth have been able to continue their education. In 2012, the 1st Annual 7 Friends Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament was held at Boots Randolph Golf Course. At that time, 18 teams participated. In 2013, 28 teams participated and the tournament looks to grow again in 2014.”
