The UGA Grady County and Decatur County Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) Agents will be participating in the Sowega Council on Aging (SCOA) Regional Resource Fair & Farmer's Market on Friday, June 26, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bainbridge-Decatur County Recreation Authority in Bainbridge.

We look forward to meeting residents from Decatur, Seminole, Grady, Miller, and Early Counties and sharing information about UGA Extension programs, food safety, healthy living, and more!

Our next SCOA Regional Resource Fair and Farmer's Market is at the Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority in Bainbridge on Friday, June 26, from 10 am to noon. The counties served are Decatur, Seminole, Grady, Miller, and Early.

Reminder: You must be a Resource Fair attendee to participate in the Farmer's Market. You must also be 60 or older and be in-person. Limited availability of product.

🌞 What a wonderful day at the Whigham’s Farm Swap & Mini Market! We were blessed with beautiful weather, a great turnout, and the opportunity to connect with approximately 80 community members throughout the event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the UGA Extension Grady County FACS booth to learn more about our programs, ask questions about safe food preservation, and have your pressure canners and gauges inspected. It was a pleasure sharing research-based information and helping families gain confidence in preserving food safely at home.

A special thank you to Cash and Carry Feeds for hosting such a fantastic community event. We appreciate the opportunity to participate and connect with so many people from across the area. We are already looking forward to the next Swap & Mini Market!

🍅🫙 What a Salsa-tastic Morning at Grady County Extension! 🌶️

Today, 7 participants joined us for our Food Preservation Workshop, where we made homemade chili salsa using both the Boiling Water Bath and Steam Canning methods. It was a great morning of hands-on learning, safe food preservation practices, and delicious results!

🌟 We even had one participant travel all the way from Tampa, Florida to join us! Thank you to everyone who attended and made the class so much fun.
