Cairo Public Library The Cairo Public Library was built in 1884 by Mrs. Anna Safford in memory of her husband, A.B. Saffo

The Cairo Public Library is a working 1884 historic library with over 50,000 volumes that can be circulated. The Library houses a unique collection of beautiful furnishings and displays located on two floors of the structure. Lovely stained glass windows throughout the facility add elegance to our wonderful building.

The Cairo Public Library will be closed from March 18th thru April 1 and will reopen Thursday, April 2, 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus. Please be mindful of others during this unusual time in our Nation's History and help your neighbor if you can.

Mr. Jason Lindsey, of WPSD-TV fame will present "Science Rocks" at the Cairo Public Library on Thursday, July 26 at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this fun and educational event which is free to the public. Mr. Lindsey has made several television appearances on The Today Show, also.
