Please be advised that the Town of Cairo Highway with the assistance of Greene County Highway will be removing snow from Main Street Thursday, December 5th at 4:00am and will continue December 6th as well. Off street parking will be provided at Railroad Avenue and the upper parking area by the firehouse. All vehicles need to be removed from Main Street. Any questions or concerns, contact Robert Hempstead at 518-965-1266.

Town of Cairo Highway crews were out in the Acra area removing debris from last Thursday/Friday devastating storm.

I would like to personally thank all first responders (fire control, state, county and Cairo police, Greene County Highway, Roger from Cairo Durham School transit and particularly Cairo Fire Department, etc.) for their prompt and continued response to today's storm. The Town of Cairo Highway crews were mobilized at 2:30am and worked tirelessly to open roads and clear debris.Thank you Mike Borsuk, Dave Rivenburgh, Alan Beede, Ron Baitsholts, Art Evans, Joe Reynolds, Howard Parmelee and Don Schmerhorn. Acra was hit particularly hard, please review the posted photos. It does not do it justice for the amount of devastation. Thank you to all the residents of Cairo for their patience.

The Town of Cairo Highway Crews installing three new large concrete catch basins with cast iron frame and grates in front of Cairo Fire House in preparation of the milling and paving of Railroad Avenue (Catch basins were installed in a manner to provide for future expansion of the fire department properties along Railroad Avenue) Mike Borsuk, gradall, Art Evans, Tamper, Dalton Eberling, Mike Todaro, Don Schermerhorn, Howard Parmelee, Walter Harasemovech, Dave Rivenburgh, Tandam, not shown Alan Beede on loader backhoe and Dan Rippel. This drainage will serve the community for generations to come.
