WOW, Calamus! What an incredible turnout for our Annual Pit Beef Dinner!

We served 816 meals in just 2½ hours, and we cannot thank everyone enough who came out, stood in line, grabbed a meal, donated, volunteered, shared our posts, and supported the Calamus Volunteer Fire Department.

Fundraisers like this are incredibly important to our department. Your support helps us maintain and replace the trucks, equipment and gear we rely on to serve our community. Every single meal makes a difference.

We may be a small-town volunteer fire department, but Sunday was another reminder that we have one heck of a community standing behind us. ❤️

Join us for the Calamus Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Pit Beef Dinner this Sunday, August 30th!

This isn’t your ordinary beef dinner. We slow roast the beef overnight over a bed of coals in the ground, uncover it Sunday morning, and serve it up hot, tender and delicious!

This isn’t your ordinary roast beef dinner. This is PIT BEEF — Calamus style!

We slow roast the beef overnight over a bed of hot coals buried in the ground. Come morning, we uncover it, pull it apart, and serve it up hot and tender. If you’ve never had beef cooked this way, you’re missing out!
