Busy Day for Mayor Jones!

Yesterday, Mayor Jones sponsored the Mobile MVC Unit’s visit to town, where he personally checked in with residents, helped them navigate paperwork, and made sure additional support, including a notary, was available on site.

Later, Mayor Jones visited Caden’s Clubhouse, a one-of-a-kind library centered on neurodiversity and dedicated to educating the community about the importance of understanding and embracing people’s differences. Every book in the library was donated by a member of the community, making it a powerful reflection of Caldwell’s generosity and heart.

From expanding access to services to supporting spaces that celebrate what makes every person unique, Mayor Jones continues moving Caldwell forward.

✔️ Shared Services – Fuel Purchasing:

Kris and Darren supported and helped advance the shared services agreement with West Caldwell to purchase municipal vehicle fuel. This cooperative effort has enabled Caldwell to cut its fuel costs by more than 50% compared to the previous year.

Shared services help municipalities lower per-capita expenses and improve service delivery. Proof that collaboration with neighboring towns really works.

✔️ In-House Administrative & Engineering Staffing:

Caldwell hired a full-time Borough Administrator with deep expertise: licensed Professional Engineer, certified Public Works Manager, former DPW Director and sewer-plant operator. Now, many former functions that were outsourced are now handled in-house which saves thousands of dollars annually (the previous outside consultant engineer was billing around $500,000 yearly). These strategic hires strengthen Caldwell's internal capacity, reduce consultant fees, and keep more tax-dollars working for Caldwell.

Darren, Kris and the entire borough government is committed to fiscal responsibility and service excellence by investing in the people, partnerships and infrastructure needed to move Caldwell forward both efficiently and transparently.
