🎨 CALLING ALL LOCAL ARTISTS! 🎨

The Village of Caldwell is looking for talented local artists from Noble County and the surrounding area to help shape the future look of our downtown!

As part of our Downtown Revitalization efforts, we are seeking artists interested in submitting design concepts for large-scale mural installations that will be featured on downtown buildings. These murals will be produced as high-quality vinyl applications and installed on building facades to enhance the visual appeal of our community, celebrate local pride, and create new attractions for residents and visitors alike.

Interested artists should submit:
✅ A portfolio of past artwork
✅ Examples of mural work (if available, but not required)
✅ A brief introduction about yourself
✅ Any preliminary ideas or concepts you may have for Caldwell-themed murals

We encourage designs that reflect our community's history, natural beauty, small-town charm, local culture, and vision for the future.

This is a fantastic opportunity to leave a lasting artistic impact on downtown Caldwell while helping us create a more vibrant and welcoming destination.

To submit your work or learn more, please email: [email protected]

📌 Deadline is Monday, June 22.

***While all submissions will be considered, preference will be given to artists with ties to Caldwell or Noble County.***

Downtown Signage & Lighting Improvement Update

The Village of Caldwell is excited to share another step forward in our ongoing downtown improvement efforts.

Over the coming weeks, residents and visitors will begin seeing new directional and wayfinding signage installed at key locations throughout the Village. These signs are designed to help guide visitors to our Historic Downtown district, public parking areas, and other important destinations while creating a more welcoming and attractive experience for everyone who visit Caldwell.

In addition to the new wayfinding signs, the Village is also installing new regulatory traffic signs, including updated stop signs, to improve safety and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.

In addition to the new signage, you may have noticed the large black poles being installed around the downtown square. These poles are being installed as part of a future decorative lighting project and will serve as mounting points for overhead string lighting that will connect directly to the Noble County Courthouse. This lighting will help create a warm and inviting atmosphere in the heart of our downtown, enhance community events, and further showcase the historic character of Downtown Caldwell.

These improvements are part of our continued efforts to strengthen downtown, support local businesses, improve visitor experiences, and create a vibrant community gathering space for residents and guests alike.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as these projects continue to take shape and look forward to sharing additional updates as work progresses.

Attention Village Residents,

We understand there is a significant amount of construction taking place both within and around the Village right now. While it may seem like a lot all at once, favorable weather conditions make this the best time to complete these important projects.

With that being said, when you see “Road Closed” signs that state “Local Traffic Only,” it means that only residents who live directly within the affected area may pass through to access their homes. The gap between the signs is intentionally left open for local residents and construction equipment entering and exiting the work zone.

Please do not drive through these closures if you do not live in the immediate area. This includes golf carts and driving through private property or other residents’ yards to reach your destination.

For example, the section of Main Street and Miller Street that is currently closed is not to be used as a pass-through route from Main Street to Miller Street or from Miller Street to Main Street.

We understand that detours and road closures can be frustrating. However, these measures are necessary to ensure the safety of residents, motorists, pedestrians, and construction crews working in these areas.

We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as these projects are completed.

Thank you,

Klay Conaway

This is a reminder that driving a motor vehicle on the walking track is not allowed. I was walking on the track tonight, as were others and kids, and a vehicle didn't want to take the detour around town, so it used the walking track. This is unacceptable and a safety concern, as the track cannot handle the weight of vehicles going over it. It is on camera and the footage will be sent to authorities every time, and a ticket will be issued until I place bollards blocking the entrance for vehicles. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter,

The Village of Caldwell is aware of the overflowing manhole on Planning Mill Street in front of the Co-Op.

This issue is related to a high service pump at the water treatment plant being out of service and currently undergoing replacement. As a result, plant operators have been required to backwash filters more frequently and discharge water from the treatment process. The water flowing onto the street does not pose a health risk.

We are working diligently to complete the pump replacement and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding while these necessary repairs are being made.
