The Cade Lake Volunteer Fire Department extends our sincerest condolences and heartfelt thoughts to the Birch Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the family of Melvin Lehmann. Melvin dedicated his service as a firefighter and as the President of the Birch Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Memorial service plans are currently underway.

At this time the burn ban has been lifted.

Still take caution when burning, don’t leave it unattended and call the sheriffs office if you are doing a large burn.

No barrel burning
No ground burning
No limbs, leaves or brush
No trash burning

No open flame of any kind.

BBQ pits must have a screen, lid and be used for cooking purposes only.

Cade Lake units were dispatched to cr 319 and cr 320 for a tree that has fallen on the power line, the tree is on fire and the power line is on the ground.

1541 went in route and 1501 went direct.

Upon arrival with the dispatch information of a power line down we took precaution and noticed the fallen tree had a lot of holes… not Beatles… Woody the wood pe**er went to town on the trunk of the tree and caused it to fall.

No down powerlines, We extinguished the burning limbs and admired the hard work of the wood pe**er.

Units went back in service
