As previously shared with our community, the Calexico Unified School District has conducted a thorough and inclusive process to consider the renaming of Cesar Chavez Elementary School. Throughout this process, the District engaged students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders to gather input and recommendations.

Based on this engagement, the two finalist name options are:
* Roberto Moreno Elementary School: This name honors the memory of Roberto Moreno for his lasting impact on the Calexico community through his distinguished service as a teacher and school administrator, whose dedication helped shape the lives of generations of students.
* Desert Valley Elementary School: This name reflects the school's geographic location in the unique desert landscape of southeastern California and celebrates the natural beauty and character of our region.

We are now inviting the broader Calexico community to participate in this important decision. All Calexico residents are encouraged to complete this survey and select the one name they believe best represents our school and community. Your input is valued and will help inform the Board of Trustees as they consider the final school name.

Como se compartió previamente con nuestra comunidad, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Calexico ha llevado a cabo un proceso minucioso e inclusivo para considerar el cambio de nombre de la Escuela Primaria César Chávez. A lo largo de este proceso, el Distrito involucró a estudiantes, padres de familia, personal y miembros de la comunidad para recopilar opiniones y recomendaciones.

Como resultado de esta participación, las dos opciones finalistas de nombre son:

* Roberto Moreno Elementary School: Este nombre honra la memoria de Roberto Moreno por su impacto duradero en la comunidad de Calexico a través de su distinguido servicio como maestro y administrador escolar, cuya dedicación ayudó a formar la vida de generaciones de estudiantes.
* Desert Valley Elementary School: Este nombre refleja la ubicación geográfica de la escuela en el singular paisaje desértico del sureste de California y celebra la belleza natural y el carácter de nuestra región.
