The mission of the Calhoun City Chamber of Commerce is to assist local businesses and other organizations in promoting economic development, building a better community, enhancing the quality of life, becoming better informed and solving common problems of the area. Calhoun City was founded in 1906. As of the 2010 census Calhoun City has a total population of 1,770 and the total population of Calh

oun County being 14,962. Sax" Ace Cannon, Dave Parker, former Major League Baseball player, Cornelius Wortham, former National Football League and Alabama Crimson Tide player, are a few famous people from Calhoun City, MS. The Town of Calhoun City is served by the Calhoun County School District. This District is home to the Bruce Trojans, the Vardaman Rams, and the Calhoun City Wildcats.
