Pursuit that spanned 3 counties. Glad all officers involved and pedestrians were not harmed. Great job McLean County Sheriff's Office.
McLean County Sheriff's Office had received an anonymous tip that Cody Alire had parole violation warrants out of Indiana on Robbery charges. Today on 5/24/23 McLean County Deputies observed Alire driving in a vehicle in Livermore. Deputies made a traffic stop on him. Alire exited the vehicle immediately upon stopping and then jumped back in the vehicle to flee. Deputies pursued him and on Highway 431 near Island Alire fired 4 rounds with a handgun from the vehicle at the Deputies. The Deputies and Sheriff continued the pursuit into Muhlenberg County where Muhlenberg County and City officers engaged in the pursuit as well. The pursuit entered Christian County. Christian County, Hopkinsville, and KSP units then engaged in the pursuit. Alire fired more rounds at officers during the pursuit in the other counties. A spike strip was deployed and Alire crashed into a pole in Hopkinsville. Alire then was taken into custody and transported to the hospital due to injuries a d will be lodged in Christian County Detention Center.
Alire will face charges in several counties.
McLean County Sheriff's Office has charged Alire with 2 counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, Theft of a handgun, Theft of a motor vehicle, and Fleeing and Evading 1st degree. There may be additional charges for Alire once the investigation is complete.
