Recently there has been a couple copper wire thefts from a local building. Last night a volunteer surveillance team set up to observe and report any suspicious activity at the location. At approximately 11pm the surveillance team notified me they had a suspicious person on site. That information was passed on to deputies that were nearby and the burglar was caught. Wayne Finley was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $10,000, Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Possession of burglars tools, and Burglary 3rd degree.

UPDATE: ROADWAY BACK OPEN

UPDATE: ROADWAY BACK OPEN.

TRAFFIC ALERT!!!
Highway 431 will be closed this morning at the intersection of Barrett Hill Road due to an overturned semi blocking the roadway. Detour using Hwy 1080 and Hwy 250.

UPDATE: Fort Campbell Explosive Technicians have removed the explosive devices and roadway is now open and safe to travel.

TRAFFIC ALERT
An old military explosive device has been discovered at Phillips Auto Salvage. Out of an abundance of caution Hwy 431 will be closed between Hwy 250 and Hwy 1080 possibly for the next 4 hours. Explosive Technicians from Owensboro and Ft. Campbell are en route.
The potential blast radius of the device does NOT require any homes to be evacuated.
