Gordon County College and Career Academy students in Mr. Troglin’s advanced welding class were hard at work today on a variety of projects.

Welding is a strong career option for students, and GCCCA provides hands on learning that helps students build real skills for life after high school. Through practice, precision, and problem solving, students are preparing for future opportunities in a high demand field.

We are proud to see our students growing their skills and preparing for success beyond graduation.

Gordon County College and Career Academy students in Mr. Pruett’s Industrial Maintenance class were getting started with hands-on learning through different classroom stations.

First level students begin by building a strong foundation in safety before moving deeper into the pathway. These early lessons help prepare students for future skills, industry expectations, and the many career opportunities connected to industrial maintenance.

If you have not yet completed the 2027-2028 School Calendar Survey, please take a few moments to share your preference between Option 1 and Option 2. The primary difference between the two proposed calendars is the timing of Fall Break.

The survey also includes an optional section about school and district communications. These questions will help us better understand how you receive information, which communication tools you prefer, and whether there is interest in exploring a more centralized approach to communication.

The communications portion is completely optional and is not required in order to submit your calendar selection.

There are so many great things happening at the Gordon County College and Career Academy of Design and Advanced Manufacturing! Today, students in Mrs. Stodghill's class are using graphic design to express who they are through creativity and visual arts.

Mrs. Stodghill worked with students as they created collage projects that represented their interests and personalities. Through this project, students explored how graphic design can combine images, color, layout, and meaning to communicate a message.

Graphic design gives students the opportunity to think creatively while building skills they can use in future careers.

College and Career Academy JROTC students are learning leadership, responsibility, and attention to detail.

Col. Steinbrecker worked with his level 3 students as they completed uniform inspections, an important part of learning discipline, professionalism, and pride in presentation. Through experiences like this, students gain a deeper understanding of the values connected to military service, including respect, accountability, teamwork, and personal excellence.

These lessons help prepare students to lead with confidence both in and out of the classroom.

🇺🇸 STUDENT LEADERS: Here’s an incredible opportunity!

Applications are now open for the 2027 U.S. Senate Youth Program, a unique educational experience for outstanding high school juniors and seniors interested in leadership, civic engagement, and careers in public service.

Eligible Georgia juniors and seniors who hold a qualifying high-level leadership position during the 2026–2027 school year are encouraged to apply. Selected delegates will participate in Washington Week, March 6–13, 2027.

Students in grades 3–8 are invited to build, learn, and explore through hands-on STEAM activities including electronics, mechanics, drones, agriculture, construction, and graphic design. No prior experience is needed!
