🧵 Ready to learn the basics of sewing? 🪡

Join us for a YOUTH Beginner Sewing Class where participants will learn basic sewing skills while creating their very own custom pocket pouch keychain!

📅 September 8th
⏰ 5:30–7:30 P.M.
💲 $10 per participant
👧 Ages 8 & up
🧵 All materials provided!

Johnna Gray of Stitches with a Purpose will be leading the class and providing hands-on instruction—making this a great opportunity for anyone who is brand new to sewing!

Participants will leave with new sewing skills and their own completed pocket pouch keychain to take home.

One of the requirements for CAIP is participation in an **Extension-sponsored educational meeting**.

McLean County Extension will be offering **one final opportunity to attend an eligible meeting before the November 30 deadline.**

McLean County’s 1st Crop Scouting Team earned an impressive 4th-place finish at the University of Kentucky High School Crop Scouting Contest on July 23, 2026.

Held at the UK Research and Education Center, the contest gives students hands-on experience identifying crop pests, weeds, diseases, nutrient concerns, and other field conditions that can affect crop production. Crop scouting helps farmers catch problems early and make informed decisions to protect their crops.

Team members included Mr. Kilgore, Ag Teacher; Will Carter; Isaias Stratton; Mason Howard; Elijah West; and Ben Hayden, McLean County Extension Ag Agent.

Due to low enrollment, we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming DIY Beaded Suncatcher Workshop.

While we're disappointed we won't be creating with you this time, we appreciate everyone's interest and look forward to offering this class again in the future when we can reach more participants.

In the meantime, we hope you'll join us for one of our upcoming programs! We still have exciting crafting opportunities planned, including our Bouquet Bar Workshop, Barn Quilting Class, and Quilted Bow Workshop. We'd love to see you there!

Join us for a fun, hands-on quilting experience with Johnna Gray of Stitches with a Purpose and create a beautiful quilted bow that's perfect for your home décor or holiday decorating.

✨ Beginner friendly (basic sewing preferred)

There's still time to sign up for one of our FREE Beaded Suncatcher workshops!

Create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind suncatcher using a wooden picture frame or embroidery hoop and colorful beads. Whether your style is rustic, vintage, or bright and colorful, you'll leave with a piece that's uniquely yours.

Class Options:
📅 Thursday, August 6th at 5:30 PM

Bring: (If you have)
🖼️ A wooden picture frame or embroidery hoop (8 inches or smaller)
✨ Your own beads (glass and smaller eclectic beads work best!)
