On July 14, 2026, the California City Police Department proudly recognized several members of our department for their outstanding service, professionalism, and dedication to our community.

Officer Jesus Flores was presented with the Certificate of Commendation in recognition of his diligence, determination, and coordinated efforts alongside multiple law enforcement agencies. His commitment and teamwork were instrumental in the collaborative search that resulted in the successful recovery of an abducted child and the apprehension of the suspect within hours.

Dispatcher Rebecca Wofford was also presented with the Certificate of Commendation for her exceptional investigative work and collaboration, which played a vital role in the safe recovery of the abducted child and the apprehension of the suspect.

Officer Joshua Flores was presented with the Life-Saving Award in grateful recognition of his exceptional diligence, sound judgment, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of others. Through his prompt actions, selfless service, and trust in his instincts, Officer Flores played a critical role in saving the life of a California City resident. His courage, compassion, and dedication exemplify the highest ideals of public service. His heroic actions will serve as an enduring inspiration and will be remembered with profound appreciation.

Traffic Advisory – July 5

The California City Police Department would like to advise the public that the City of California City will be hosting a fireworks show tonight at Central Park.

Beginning at 8:00 PM and continuing through the conclusion of the fireworks display, California City Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Conklin Boulevard and Randsburg Mojave Road.

Motorists are encouraged to use South Loop Boulevard or North Loop Boulevard as alternate routes to avoid traffic delays and road closures.

Following the event, CCPD officers will be stationed at Conklin Boulevard and California City Boulevard to direct traffic. Please follow all officers' directions to help ensure a safe and efficient exit for everyone attending.

We encourage citizens to arrive prior to 8:30 pm so they have time to settle in and on time for the event.

On June 11, 2026, the California City Police Department had the pleasure of partnering with Starbucks for our Coffee with a Cop event. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Starbucks for graciously hosting us and helping create an opportunity to connect with our community over a cup of coffee.

We were also honored to have the Miss Edwards Pageantry join us and participate in today’s event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, and spent time with us. We truly enjoyed connecting with our community and hope to see even more familiar faces at our next Coffee with a Cop! ☕👮‍♂️
