Hearts Across the Valley

Hearts Across the Valley Let's spread love — and hearts — all across Napa Valley! It will be a series of as many art installations across Napa Valley as possible.

Hearts Across the Valley is a 2017 public art project in Napa Valley, California, created by artist and art teacher Karen Lynn Ingalls. Each will incorporate heart symbols in various forms — atop fenceposts along the highway, hanging on downtown trees, suspended from and surrounding the Napa Valley signs, on Calistoga City Hall, at local schools, at local landmarks — wherever people will see them and feel a little more love. Because, after all, a little more love is a good thing.

This is Caleb from Huntsville, AL. About a year ago, Caleb contemplated ending his life until one day, he was able to break free from his dark thoughts and went to the store and purchased some cardboard and markers. He got up every day for the next week and held these signs up to spread love and positivity to strangers in the cars passing by. He hasn’t stopped since. You can follow Caleb and watch him continue to spread light to those around him.

Calistoga, California has emerged from the fires, and we are so grateful to all the people who worked so hard to save us and our town, and as much as possible in the Napa and Sonoma County wildfires - and all the California wildfires! Since my return from evacuation, I've been making a whole passel of heart art signs to post and share our gratitude, and I'm distributing them to businesses in town. Here is one, at Stix and Stones Gallery in Calistoga. Calistoga Firefighter's Association Calistoga Police Department Calistoga Chamber of Commerce

I think this amazing and wise little girl is working on the same wavelength we are.... Our rocks (yes, we made rocks with hearts too!) will go out next month, with lots of love. My thanks to Sharon Grimes Kennedy (who also made a rock with a ladybug!) for calling my attention to this.
