We're sad to share that longtime Jacksonville TV journalist and breast cancer prevention advocate Jeannie Blalock announced on the six o'clock edition of her First Coast News Buddy Check 12 segment that she detected and been diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer herself. We all know her for her Buddy Check campaign, and it was through this same advice that she caught it VERY early thanks to regular self exams. I'm sure she would be thankful if this news is a reminder to all that cancer isn't a respecter of persons...it can happen to anyone. Ladies, do those exams and don't postpone those very important mammograms!
We're all cheering for Jeannie as she embarks on her journey, just like we do for all when cancer comes interrupting lives. If you are a lady diagnosed with any type of cancer requiring chemo or radiation, please give us a call about resources we can provide for you through our generous donors. You need to bring a printed copy of a current pathology report (within 3 months) and photo ID.
We are located in Callahan, FL across from CES, and we have a volunteer available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am til 2 pm. Our designated parking is beside our building and can be accessed through the Coviva Health parking lot.
Like Jeannie said when she made the announcement, "Cancer, you are messing with the wrong woman! We're on your side, Jeannie and praying for your swift and complete recovery!

I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer.
It was a jolt to me, but my doctors at Baptist MD Anderson say it’s “curable.” Am I nervous? Yeah. I have surgery this Thursday. But, as I’m telling my family, the surgeon says I couldn’t have caught it any sooner. God is already showing me He is all over this. I welcome your thoughts and advice. 💕💗
