Nassau County Extension Nassau County Extension is a partnership between IFAS at University of Florida and Nassau County Government.

Nassau County Extension Service is a partnership between the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (IFAS) at the University of Florida and Nassau County Government. UF/IFAS is part of the University of Florida Land Grant system. Extension was started in 1914 under the Smith/Lever Act. We provide research-based information to the residents of Nassau County in the areas of Horticulture (care and maintenance of trees, lawn grass, shrubs, plants, vegetables); Family, Consumer Sciences (Budgeting, Health and Wellness, nutrition and Medicare); Natural Resources (land management, pesticide certification, livestock, and Best Management Practices); and 4-H Youth development (traditional home-based clubs, 4-H Leadership). These services provided by the Extension Service are a cooperative effort between Nassau County and UF/IFAS.

Time to clean out the garage, shed, and junk drawer!

Join us for the Nassau County Household Hazardous Waste Collection & Food Drive on October 17, 2026, from 8:00 AM-Noon at the Nassau County Road Department, 86200 Gene Lasserre Blvd., Yulee. Bring your unwanted household hazardous materials, old electronics, used oil, paint, batteries, and more for safe disposal.

While you're there, help neighbors in need by donating nonperishable food items for the Barnabas Food Pantry. Proof of Nassau County residency is required.

Let's keep Nassau County clean, safe, and beautiful!

Attend tonight's presentation on the 5Rs of Fertilizer Management: Right Rate, Right Source, Right Time, Right Place, and Right Water Management. Participants will learn how to use soil testing, select the proper fertilizer, apply nutrients effectively, and manage irrigation to maintain a healthy, resilient lawn while reducing nutrient runoff.
