Nassau County Extension Nassau County Extension is a partnership between IFAS at University of Florida and Nassau County Government.

Nassau County Extension Service is a partnership between the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (IFAS) at the University of Florida and Nassau County Government. UF/IFAS is part of the University of Florida Land Grant system. Extension was started in 1914 under the Smith/Lever Act. We provide research-based information to the residents of Nassau County in the areas of Horticulture (care an

d maintenance of trees, lawn grass, shrubs, plants, vegetables); Family, Consumer Sciences (Budgeting, Health and Wellness, nutrition and Medicare); Natural Resources (land management, pesticide certification, livestock, and Best Management Practices); and 4-H Youth development (traditional home-based clubs, 4-H Leadership). These services provided by the Extension Service are a cooperative effort between Nassau County and UF/IFAS.
