On Friday, April 17th, Pittsylvania Career and Technical Center's Criminal Justice and EMT programs will coordinate with multiple first-responder agencies to conduct a controlled learning experience for students on the PCTC campus.

This will be a full-scale, interdisciplinary emergency response simulation conducted at PCTC involving students from the Criminal Justice and Emergency Medical Technician programs. This event will also include volunteers from local fire, EMS, dispatch, and local law enforcement. There will also be multiple EMS vehicles on PCTC's campus. This event will provide a valuable learning experience for students and enable these programs to collaborate with various agencies.

This event will start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. This message is to notify parents that multiple emergency agencies will be on the PCTC campus for a learning experience.

Community Hero Blend 2026 is here! ☕🚒

Same incredible blend. Same great cause. New year to make an even bigger impact.

We’re proud to bring back our Community Hero Blend in support of the Callands Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. This medium roast—with its smooth body and notes of chocolate and nuts—quickly became a favorite, and we’re excited to launch it again for 2026.

Just like before, $10 from every bag sold goes directly to support the department and the volunteers who serve and protect our community. Every purchase helps provide the resources they need to continue showing up when it matters most.

The fundraiser is underway, and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year. Whether you supported it before or you’re grabbing your first bag, this is your chance to enjoy a great cup of coffee that gives back.

Stop by the shop or order online for pickup and help us make 2026 our strongest year yet. Let’s brew up something meaningful—again.

Virginia’s spring fire season is here, officially Feb. 15 – April 30. During that time, the statewide burn law is in effect, which prohibits outdoor fires between midnight and 4 p.m. 🔥🚫

Don't be fooled by the snow! Most of Virginia is in a drought caused by months of below-average rainfall. Already this year, DOF has responded to 80 wildfires that have burned nearly 800 acres.

The best ways you can prevent wildfires:
🔥 Wait until after the fire season to burn yard debris
🔥 If you must burn, avoid windy days
🔥 Never leave a fire unattended
🔥 Know the state burn law and local restrictions

Get more tips, and learn about the 4 p.m. burning law on DOF’s website: https://ow.ly/3SsV50Yey8q
