It is bittersweet to share that Ms. Bourhill will be leaving us for a wonderful new opportunity outside our school. We'll miss her greatly, but we are so excited for her to put her degree to work and show her new team just how incredible she is. 💙💛💙💛

Franklin County Families, Enjoy the Long Weekend! 🌟

A quick reminder that all Franklin County Public Schools and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

We hope all of our students, staff, and families take this time to relax, recharge, and spend quality time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 8!

We loved welcoming our Callaway Colts and their families back to school! Families enjoyed a pizza dinner provided by our amazing PTO, visited classrooms, met teachers, and got a chance to see all the exciting things happening this year.

Families also took home FREE BOOKS to enjoy together!

A special shout-out to our 5th Grade House Leaders, who did an awesome job sharing the details of our House System.

A big THANK YOU to Officer Dotterer from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources for visiting with our 5th grade students alongside Mr. Fralin as they prepare for their upcoming kayak trip!

Our students are getting ready to hit the water with important knowledge about safety and kayaking. We can’t wait to see them put their new skills to use.

Shout Out to Sgt. Dungan!
Sometimes all it takes is noticing when someone could use a helping hand and Sgt. Dungan did just that. She popped into the cafeteria, saw that our hardworking cafeteria crew could use an extra set of hands, and jumped right in to help serve lunch.
Thank you, Sgt. Dungan, for always looking for ways to support our Colts and our staff. We appreciate you!

Our Kindergarten Colts are proudly showing their very first book checkouts! There’s nothing quite like the excitement of choosing library books to bring home to read with families. We hope these first library books are the beginning of a lifetime of reading adventures!
