The Callaway Volunteer fire department would like to thank the Callaway chamber, the Callaway Pioneer picnic car show with Lee Burns and the 50/50 raffle winner Leroy Rice. Leroy donated his winnings from the 50/50 raffle and money raised from the Callaway Pioneer picnic car show and the Callaway chamber was also donated to the Callaway fire and rescue in amount of $1806 and was presented to the fire department at their July 6, 2026 meeting. The money was used to purchase two 2 additional radios installed in our fire trucks to help with communications during fires. Again we want to thank everyone for their donations.

Thank you to Kent Trumbull for 30 yrs of service. 15 of those years Kent was also a EMT for Callaway Fire and Rescue to. Kent has left the department due to health reasons and Kent was presented a plaque for 30 yrs. Thanks Kent!!!

Putting your donated money to work!!! Updated 30 masks and goggles for dept members. These masks cost around $130 to $160 each. Plus keeping the filters stocked. We want to thank everyone for the donations as we go thru a very busy and active time. All the water donated, snacks, and making sandwiches We thank you!!

🚑 EMS WEEK 2026 🚑

During EMS Week, we proudly recognize the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of the emergency medical providers and healthcare teams who serve our communities every day.

This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” reflects the teamwork and collaboration that are essential throughout every stage of patient care. From the dispatch center, to first responders providing care in the field, to hospital and clinic staff, and even the teams coordinating transports to larger facilities for advanced care, each part of the healthcare system plays a vital role in serving our communities.

Every emergency response depends on communication, trust, teamwork, and a shared commitment to providing the highest level of care possible. Whether answering a 911 call, treating patients on scene, caring for them in the emergency department, or safely transporting them for specialized treatment, we work together with one common goal: improving outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

We are grateful for the volunteer responders, EMS professionals, dispatchers, healthcare workers, and support staff who dedicate countless hours to caring for others with compassion, professionalism, and pride.

As volunteers, Callaway Rescue members answer calls at all hours while balancing full time jobs, families, school activities, sleepless nights, training hours, and everyday life. They do it because they care deeply about this community and the people in it.

Thank you to all who continue to answer the call and serve our communities each and every day.

Pressey Fire Update – Custer County
Supporting state agencies have been released, and the fire response will now be managed by local fire departments.

All agencies and fire departments would like to thank the communities and local businesses in and around Custer County for their incredible support and donations. Right now, crews have everything they need in terms of food and drinks, so no additional donations are necessary.
