Beginning Tuesday, May 12, 2026, intermittent road closures will occur along S. Gay Avenue between Hickory Street and Cherry Street. Closures will be in effect daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are expected to continue through May 22, 2026.

These temporary closures are necessary to allow City crews to safely install new water service connections beneath the roadway. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this improvement project.

‼️Reminder of today’s Scheduled Water Outage/Precautionary Boil Water Notice‼️

To: Residents and Businesses of the Callaway Public Water System at:

107 – 182 North Comet Avenue
6423 – 6707 Cherry Street
109 – 138 North Berthe Avenue

Due to a water main in conflict with a storm drainage project on Cherry Street between North Comet Avenue and South Berthe Avenue, a scheduled water outage will start at 8:00 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The water is expected to be restored by 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Customers in the affected area may experience discolored water and/or entrained air for approximately 24 hours after the water has been restored.

Therefore, as a precaution, after service is restored, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. An announcement will be made to rescind the boil water notice at that time.

If you have any questions, you may contact Public Works at (850) 871-1033.
