To: Residents and Businesses that are serviced by the Callaway Public Water System at:

All of S. Gay Ave from Hickory Street north to Cherry Street
West side of Lannie Rowe Drive
5824 Cherry Street

Due to a city crew having to install a 6' isolation gate valve on South Gay Avenue. An planned outage took place and water has since been restored.

Customers in the affected area may experience discolored water and/or entrained air for approximately 24 hours after the water has been restored.

Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

This “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. An announcement will be made to rescind the boil water notice at that time.

If you have any questions, you may contact Public Works at (850) 871-1033.
