As the new 2026–2027 school year approaches, the Calvert Police Department would like to remind all students, parents, and guardians that Calvert ISD requires clear backpacks for all grade levels.

This policy is designed to help provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students, teachers, and staff while allowing everyone to focus on what matters most, education.

We encourage families to purchase the appropriate clear backpack before the first day of school to help ensure a smooth start to the year.

Freedom is something we celebrate today, but one poor decision can change everything.

If your plans include fireworks, cookouts, or time with friends and family, please celebrate responsibly. Have a designated driver, call a ride, or stay where you are if you’ve been drinking.

Our officers will be out today and tonight to help keep our roads and community safe. We want everyone to enjoy the holiday, and more importantly, make it home to the people who love them.

Celebrate the 4th. Protect your future. Make it home safely.

🎆 🇺🇸 Independence Day Fireworks Reminder 🇺🇸 🎆

As we celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, the City of Calvert and the Calvert Police Department would like to remind everyone that the discharge of fireworks within the City of Calvert is prohibited under City Ordinance Article 5.03.002.

For the safety of our community, our officers will be actively patrolling throughout the holiday weekend. Individuals found in violation of the ordinance may be subject to citations, fines, and other penalties as authorized by law.

We ask everyone to do their part by celebrating responsibly and helping us keep our neighborhoods safe for families, children, pets, and first responders.

If you witness illegal fireworks being discharged within the city limits, please contact the appropriate authorities to report it.

Thank you for your cooperation, and from all of us at the City of Calvert and the Calvert Police Department, we wish you and your family a safe, happy, and enjoyable Independence Day! 🇺🇸

The Calvert Police Department is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 16th Annual Pike’s Memorial Ride this Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Our officers will be on-site throughout the event to assist with traffic control, public safety, and emergency response. We are committed to helping make this a safe, enjoyable, and memorable day for everyone.

As you enjoy the festivities, please help us by remembering:

✅ Follow all traffic laws and directions from law enforcement officers.
🏍️ Ride responsibly and be mindful of other motorists, pedestrians, and fellow riders.
🚫 Never drink and drive. Please designate a sober driver or arrange a safe ride home.
⏳ Expect increased traffic and temporary delays—your patience is appreciated.
🤝 Respect our community, local businesses, residents, and fellow attendees.
🗑️ Help keep Calvert clean by disposing of trash properly.
📞 If you see suspicious activity or need assistance, notify the nearest officer immediately.

The Calvert Police Department is asking for the public’s help after our patrol vehicles were vandalized last night.

If you witnessed anything suspicious or have surveillance or doorbell camera footage, please contact us.

Let it be known that if any unauthorized event takes place within the city limits of Calvert, those involved will be arrested on site. You can have a party at your residence (on private property) if the streets are not blocked and vehicles are not within the pathway of traffic. If you rent a hall and all guests are within the hall, no issue. Anyone in the roadway, blocking the flow of traffic and vehicles in the roadway, will be dealt with accordingly. If you do not believe me, try me.
ALL events given in the city of Calvert are to be scheduled and permitted within the city of Calvert. NO ONE IS EXEMPT. If you can not come to City Hall and request an Event Permit, do not cry; you didn't know. NOW YOU KNOW!
