Last night was a proud moment for our department as Dispatcher Alexis Solis was honored with the Lynn Rice Dispatcher of the Year Award at the countywide awards banquet. Alexis represents the very best of what it means to serve behind the scenesโ€”calm under pressure, dedicated to duty, and always there when it matters most.

Please join us in congratulating Alexis on this well-deserved recognition!

We also want to extend our sincere thanks to all of our CSU Channel Islands Police Department dispatchers for their hard work, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe every single day.

Safety starts with practice. Yesterday, the CSU Channel Islands Police Department conducted a building evacuation drill to help ensure our campus community is prepared in the event of an emergency.

These drills are designed to strengthen awareness, improve response times, and reinforce the steps needed to safely and calmly exit a building when it matters most. Practicing together helps students, staff, and faculty understand evacuation procedures, identify safe exit routes, and build confidence in emergency response.

A special thank you to our Building Marshals for their leadership and support in helping students, staff, and facility safely evacuate the buildings. Your guidance plays an important role in keeping our campus prepared and protected.

Their professionalism, dedication, and ability to remain composed under pressure make a difference every single day.
A special congratulations to Alexis Solis for being named this yearโ€™s Lynn Rice Police Dispatcher of the Year. This well-deserved recognition highlights Alexisโ€™s outstanding commitment and excellence in service.
