This 12 week old kitten arrived with severe swelling around the right eye, displacing the eye.

The VCAS veterinary team has been caring for this patient, now named Prismo, extensively for the last two weeks. This has included exams, antibiotics, applying artificial tears, daily monitoring of appetite/weight/demeanor, and more.

We are so thrilled to report that little Prismo has improved significantly, and is ready to continue his healing journey in a home! He is bright, alert, eating great, and is a perfect little purr machine. The veterinary staff will be discussing Prismo’s ongoing needs with any interested parties and providing a full medical history for continued care with your veterinarian.

What's better that one bunny... two bunnies! Oreo and Hoodini are a bonded pair available to adopt through the VCAS Bunny Brigade. All VCAS bunnies are spayed/neutered indoor only, litter box trained companions.

Please keep in mind that bunnies are a 10-12 year commitment that require special care! The Bunny Brigade will happily speak with any interested parties regarding proper rabbit housing, diet, care, etc.

After 177 days in shelter, Fluffy gets a dream date: Beach, park, and lunch at Lazy Dog! Let’s hope he finds a home at Clear the Shelters on Saturday, 8/22. 🤞

50+ dogs in our care have been with us for over 100 days. Please consider adopting Fluffy or one of his friends at Clear the Shelters. Adoption fees will be waived!

Fluffy has been friendly with people and dogs, and is described as a peaceful, pleasant boy.

From volunteer Monette:
“Fluffy’s calm in the car and enjoyed exploring at the beach. He’s not wanting to get his cute paws wet but was fine walking along the beach! Then off to The Collection where he enjoyed a beef and rice bowl followed by a bowl of whip cream. He saw a lot of people and dogs - many loud noises and nothing seemed to phase him. He’s one relaxed dog and I have no idea why he hasn’t been adopted. Took me a while to narrow down all the pictures we took. Hope you enjoy these. Love this guy 💚💚💚”

This Saturday help us Clear the Shelters! Over 250 pets to choose from. Adoption fees are waived for the day and all pets go home with tons of free gifts from sponsors!

3 year old Ross A884224 will be available for fee-waived adoption Saturday, 8/22 at Clear the Shelters... unless he gets scooped up sooner! 👀 He's been very friendly with people and is open to a doggie sibling with proper introductions.

While walk-ins are welcome from 1PM-6PM, appointments for specific animals will receive priority and can be made at vcas.us/adopt from 9AM-10:30AM day of. If you are interested in adopting a certain animal, making an appointment is HIGHLY recommended!

All animals will go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, and will include a free first veterinary visit. Adopters will also receive special gifts courtesy of Hill’s and Assemblymember Bennett.
