Hello Families!
I want to thank all of you for supporting our school’s Pennies for Patients campaign. With your help we surpassed our initial goal of $500. This week, I was able to process all donations – we have a new grand total of $912.66
Three classrooms raised between $100-199 earning a Bronze Pennant, and one classroom raised between $200-299 earning a Silver Pennant. The classroom pennants and student prizes (highest individual donations) will be mailed to Las Posas sometime in August/September. Once again, thank you for encouraging our students to help others who are in need. Please take care of yourselves and stay safe.
Warmly,
Mrs. Vega, Counselor

STUDENT ITEMS DISTRIBUTION AND COLLECTION

Monday, June 15th & Tuesday, June 16th
9:00-11:00 A.M. & 2:00-4:00 P.M.
School Parking Lot

Dear Las Posas Families,

As you know, the end of the 2019-20 school year is quickly approaching. One of the important items that will take place during the week of June 15, 2020 is the distribution of each child’s personal items that were left in our classrooms after our school closure on March 13th.

We will also be using this time to tackle two other important tasks. The first important item is the opportunity for families to return any loaned Chromebooks, chargers, and/or any books/supplies that were borrowed from our reading program during our Distance Learning Program.

The second item is the distribution of our new Las Posas yearbooks for those that have pre-ordered their copy online. (Please note that the yearbook order form was emailed to all families on 5/20/20. It also includes information regarding cash/check options.)

To help make these two days go as smoothly as possible, we will be using the schedule shown below with staggered pick-up times for both Monday and Tuesday, June 15th & 16th.

Following our PVSD protocols, here is the plan for all of our Las Posas families:

Parents will enter the school parking lot in their vehicle at their designated time slot (see schedule below).
All vehicles will form a line in the usual direction (east to west) as they move their vehicle up to the MPR double glass doors.
**ALL FAMILY MEMBERS ARE TO REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES**

Using appropriate social distancing protocols, a district employee will greet your vehicle and see whose belongings need to be retrieved. The employee will call into the MPR on the radio and relay whose things are to be picked up.
Your child’s bag will be brought out to your vehicle. Siblings will receive their items at the same time.

At this time, the family will hand off any school items that need to be returned (i.e. Chromebook, chargers, books). Please have any of those items that are being returned placed into a bag pre-labeled with the student’s name, teacher and grade on it.
You are welcome to use more than one bag, if needed. Please be sure to label all bags.

The employee will have a preset list of students who have been loaned Chromebooks and will check their name off once it has been received.

If your family has pre-ordered a yearbook online, it will already be placed into the student’s bag ready for delivery.

We will be utilizing a 2-hour morning block (9:00-11:00 A.M.) and a 2-hour afternoon block (2:00-4:00 P.M.), on both Monday, June 15th and Tuesday, June 16th.

Here is the schedule:
A.M. Time Last Name Begins With: P.M. Time
9:00-9:30 A - G 2:00-2:30
9:30-10:00 H - N 2:30-3:00
10:00-10:30 O - U 3:00-3:30
10:30-11:00 V - Z 3:30-4:00

In closing, I want to personally thank all of you for assisting my staff with these very important tasks as we bring closure to this historic school year. My school email address is provided below should you have any questions.
Kind Regards,

Mr. Reilley
Principal

Dear Leopard Parents,
We hope that this email finds all of you healthy and whole. As we have transitioned to our Distance Learning platform, we wanted to double check that you all received a very important letter from Dr. Ramsey last Friday via email. In it you will find some very important information regarding our Distance Learning program, expectations, and how we are moving forward.

Please know that our entire staff misses your children, and, as limiting as it is, truly enjoy seeing them each week via Zoom or speaking to them via phone call. Thank you for ALL you are doing to make the best of this very unique situation. We are all hoping that all of this will soon be a distant memory.

Please continue to stay healthy and follow the guidelines set forth from our leaders. Hopefully, we will all see a return to normal in the very near future. Best wishes to you all!!!

From,
Your Las Posas Elementary Staff

Parents,
Next Monday, March 2nd, Las Posas Elementary is beginning a 3-week campaign called "Pennies for Patients". We will be working with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation to help eliminate these terrible diseases. All funds collected will be used to help with research and treatment for those who are battling these diseases.

On Monday, March 2nd, each child will be bringing home a small box to collect spare change that will be donated to this cause. Friends and extended family members may also contribute, too. We will then collect all of the boxes back at school on Friday, March 20th.

We appreciate your support and any donation amount to this very worthy organization. This campaign is an excellent way for our students to really help those in need in a very tangible way with your participation.

Thank you for your support!
