Ventura County Young Democrats The official VC Young Dems! We meet on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. Remember, "it takes a village!"

The Ventura County Young Democrats are dedicated to empowering young people to engage in the democratic process through education, opportunity and action in order to strengthen the influence of younger voters in the politics of Ventura County, and promoting social justice by uplifting young progressive voices and promoting inclusivity and equity in our community. Our vision is to have VCYD be the

premier democratic club of the largest growing political party by being a positive catalyst of change and reflecting Ventura County’s demographic diversity. Our organization creates a safe space for young progressives from all diverse backgrounds. We serve our community by uplifting and developing the voices of young leaders. Anyone under 35 is encouraged to join as a member and anyone 36 or older is encouraged to join as an associate member.

Our votes matter most locally, and every office is important.

On August 20th, at 6:30pm, we'll be meeting on Zoom and hearing from candidates with the Stonewall Democrats of Ventura County but considering endorsements separately.

Also, let us know if you have applied for the Ventura County Democratic Party endorsement if you would like our board to look at that questionnaire and send you a shorter supplemental form.

We also know that the status quo in California isn't working for us either. In one of the most important races in Ventura County, we proudly endorse one of our own, Ashley Orozco, for Supervisor District 2! This district covers the Conejo Valley, the Santa Rosa Valley, and part of Camarillo. As many of us struggle to get by in this beautiful place we call home, the Republican majority in charge of our county has done us no favors. Ashley will work to strengthen services and do everything a county supervisor can to ensure the well-being of all residents and the protection of our environment. This Earth Day, we are proud to support Chris Espinosa for Congress in California's new District 26, which covers much of Ventura County.

Chris has extensive experience working in the House that includes serving on the Natural Resources Committee as senior staff during Chairman Grijalva’s leadership. This meant working at the epicenter of federal climate policy on urgent issues involving environmental justice, tribal sovereignty, public lands, water use, energy oversight, wildfire resilience, mining reform, and biodiversity protection.

His platform also highlights his support of universal healthcare and abolishing ICE among other progressive priorities.
