The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting an E-bike and E-moto informational Coffee with a Cop event June 13 from 9am-12pm at Vons on Arneill Rd.

Bring your e-bike, ask questions, and learn from community partners.

The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting an E-bike and E-moto informational Coffee with a Cop event. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services and needs of the community. This month’s Coffee with a Cop will be held on Saturday, 6/13/2026, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the Starbucks in Vons, located at 940 Arneill Road in Camarillo. This event will focus on E-bikes and E-motos.

During the event, parents and community members can learn more about E-bikes and E-motos from various community partners and deputies in the Traffic Unit. Current classifications of E-bikes and current laws will be discussed. Parents are encouraged to bring their child’s e-bike for a safety and current legality check. We’re here to help you understand the rules, look over the bike with you, and point out any changes it may need. This is a guidance-only event, not an enforcement event.

In addition to being able to bring your bike for review, staff from Ventura Cycling and Newbury Park Bike Shop will have E-bikes on display and answer questions regarding different E-bikes and bikes. An illegal E-moto will also be displayed. This will allow the public to better understand the differences of E-bikes and E-motos.

The goal of the Camarillo Police Department’s public education and enforcement actions is not to discourage the lawful use of E-bikes, E-scooters or bicycles, but instead to reduce collisions and injuries and increase safety on our roadways for all, especially for our youth.

Representatives from various community partners and agencies will be joining us at this event to provide additional information to the public regarding E-bikes and E-motos. Some of the partners include; Supervisor Jeff Gorrell’s Office, Ventura County Transportation Commission, Saint John’s Camarillo Hospital, and Ventura County Fire.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and Camarillo Police Department have benefited from strong partnerships with the communities we serve. The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank Vons for hosting us for this event.

Good afternoon PVSD families,

Congratulations to the Monte Vista Boys Volleyball team on winning the league championship. Their hard work, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the season are a wonderful reflection of the dedication of our student athletes, coaches, and families.

This week I enjoyed spending time in classrooms at Las Colinas, where students were engaged in meaningful learning and proudly sharing their work. I was also honored to attend the Rancho Rosal 4th Grade Statue Garden, a wonderful tradition that showcased student creativity, research, and presentation skills. A special thank you to the members of our Teacher Advisory Committee as we concluded our final meeting of the school year. I am grateful for their thoughtful feedback, partnership, and commitment to supporting students and staff across our district.

It was also a pleasure to honor our Parent Teacher organizations for a Superintendent's Roundtable luncheon today recognizing the countless hours they devote to supporting our schools. Their volunteerism, generosity, and advocacy make a meaningful difference for students, staff, and families every day.

Next week marks the final week of the school year and brings some of the most meaningful celebrations of the year. Today, I was fortunate to attend the first promotion event of the year. Tierra Linda did a beautiful job of honoring their students, staff, and families. We are proud to celebrate our 5th grade and 8th grade students as they reach important milestones and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey. See dates and times below.

If you are looking for some family time this afternoon, both Dos Caminos and CHSA are hosting school carnivals. Come out and join the fun!

Have a wonderful weekend.

As PVSD continues to prepare for the upcoming school year, accurate enrollment numbers for 2026-2027 will help us better determine staffing.

There are several options for families who may be leaving the PVSD. If any of these options apply to your family, please follow the directions below.

Leaving PVSD for the 26-27 School Year?

We hate to see you go!

If you are moving out of the district over the summer and wish to continue with PVSD, please contact Martha Vazquez [email protected] or call 805.389.2100 right away to save a spot.

Yes, you can continue in the PVSD brand of schools in much of southern California, including grades 9-12 through Peak Prep-Pleasant Valley: https://peak-prep.org/.

If you are moving within PVSD boundaries, please contact Martha Vazquez at [email protected] or 805-389-2100 to discuss your options.

If you are leaving PVSD entirely, please be sure to fill out the Request to Un-enroll Form to ensure that records are delivered to your new school as efficiently as possible. This is not required for parents of 8th-grade students moving on to high school.

PVSD Family Update - 5/29/26

Good afternoon PVSD families,

This week, our campuses welcomed families for Open House events across the district. It was a joy to see students proudly sharing their learning, explaining projects, and celebrating their growth with their families and teachers. Every classroom reflected the care, creativity, and commitment our staff bring to their work each day. Thank you to our teachers, support staff, volunteers, and families for making these evenings such a positive celebration of student learning.

A special congratulations to Las Colinas for winning the 5th Annual 8th Grade Kickball Tournament. In what is becoming quite the tradition, Las Colinas claimed the championship for the fifth consecutive year. More importantly, the event brought together our future high school students for an afternoon of friendly competition, laughter, and memories that I suspect will last well beyond middle school.

Next Friday, we begin promotion season as we celebrate important milestones for 5th and 8th grade students and families. It is hard to believe that only 2 weeks remain in the school year. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. I look forward to celebrating with many of you in the days ahead as we bring another successful school year to a close.

Please read this week's updates here: https://app.smore.com/n/0tnf4. The update is available in ParentSquare and was also emailed home to families.

Have a wonderful weekend

Sincerely,
