Silent night? Not exactly.

For so many foster families, Christmas week sounds more like doorbells ringing late, phone calls coming fast, and hearts racing as they say yes to a child who needs safety and care right now.

In those first chaotic moments of a new placement, “all is calm, all is bright” often feels a world away… but being alone doesn’t have to be part of their story.

That is where Child Hope steps in — creating a space where community gathers around foster families with the practical items, resources, and encouragement they need to care well for the little ones who just stepped foot in their home.

A few days ago, a family opened not just their door, but their routines, their holiday plans, their sleep, and their hearts to a sweet little one during Christmas week. And because of a community locking arms and meeting needs, we get to tangibly show them they are seen, known, and cared for — we want them to know, “You’re not doing this alone.”

To every foster parent saying yes in the middle of the mess, the late-night calls, and the not-so-silent nights: your brave yes is holy ground. You are making room — in your home and in your heart — and that looks a lot like Christmas to us.

One act of kindness can start a ripple that reaches hearts you’ll never meet.” – Unknown 💛

What an incredible ripple effect we’ve seen! So many came together to provide coats for 250 kids and teens in foster care — each one is a sweet reminder of what love looks like in action.

When we link arms as a community, small acts of generosity multiply and it’s incredible to see!

To everyone who joined us — thank you for being part of something bigger than any one of us.

Every single act of kindness truly makes a difference.

In the world of foster care, we are not all called to do the same thing, but we are all called to do something.

What’s your “something”?

Maybe your something is opening your home and heart to a child, like the incredible families who will receive these placement packages today for the little ones they’ve said “yes” to.

Or maybe your something looks more like standing behind the scenes—helping us fill bags with pajamas, toothbrushes, cozy blankets, and the small comforts that whisper, “You are seen. You are loved.”

It won’t look the same for everyone, but everyone can be involved. A little support goes a long way in turning an overwhelming day for a child into a moment covered in care and dignity.

Today, because of the generosity of our community, four precious kiddos will be reminded that they are seen—they are surrounded by people cheering for them. Grateful for every family who had packages delivered, $$ donated or simply said, “I want to help.”

🧡 If you feel that tug, this is your invitation: drop a comments or send us a message and we will@share with you ways you can get involved—whether that’s donating items, sponsoring a bag, or being involved in another capacity.

Foster Care & Adoption has been part of our story since 2013. When we said “yes” to the Lord back then, we were saying yes to His purpose and His plan for our family—whatever that looked like.

At the time, we thought we knew all we were saying “yes” to. But His plan reached far beyond what we could see.

What started as welcoming little ones into our home, loving them deeply, and walking through the highs and lows of foster care, became so much more. His call included rolling up our sleeves to come alongside other families walking the same journey.

Through it all, we’ve witnessed countless hearts link arms with ours to serve and love kids and families in our community. What a gift to be part of His bigger story.

Since 2012, it’s been our honor as a ministry to stand with foster parents who have bravely opened their homes and hearts to children in need. We understand the blessings—and the challenges—because we’ve walked this journey ourselves. Foster parents aren’t superheroes; they’re ordinary people who’ve said “yes” to making an extraordinary difference with their time and love.

Sometimes, the most meaningful way we can come alongside these parents is by meeting the practical needs of the kiddos in their care, during those critical moments of a new placement.

Today, we get the joy of blessing a family with the resources they need as they welcome two child into their home—and it’s a vivid reminder of just how much community support matters.

Would you prayerfully consider joining us? Together, we can make sure foster families in our community feel truly seen, loved, and cared for— in the simplest ways.

Saying “yes” to supporting foster care is easier than you think! If you’d like to provide items for children in care and the families supporting them, message us here or email us. We’ll add you to our list for future placement requests.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER DONATING A WINTER COAT FOR A LOCAL CHILD OR YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE? ❄️❄️❄️

As the colder months draw near, we are coming together as a community to make sure children and youth in foster care feel seen, loved, and cared for. One simple way we can do this is by providing them with the warmth and comfort of a brand-new winter coat.

We are inviting you to join us in our Winter Coat Drive. Each donation is more than just a coat—it is a reminder to a precious child that they matter, that they are valued, and that their community is here for them.

Because we believe these kids deserve the very best, we are asking that all coats be new. This allows every child to feel special in receiving something chosen just for them, not passed down.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider being part of this effort. Your generosity will help make this winter a little warmer—not just with coats, but with love.

Please share this post and feel free to invite your friends and community to be a part of this opportunity.

All the details, including the drop off date and location are in Flyer Posted!

Be the reason a child feels seen and cherished this winter—imagine how far one coat can go in warming both a body and a heart.🫶🏼

Last year, through the generosity of our amazing church community, Child Hope Services collected and delivered nearly 180 brand new winter coats to children in foster care across the DFW area. 🧡

This year, our hearts are stirred to believe for even more—we’re setting a new goal of 250 coats! ❄️🧥 and we want to invite our local community to participate with us!

For many of these precious kids, a new coat isn’t just about warmth—it’s a tangible reminder that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. Our desire is to gift them with the very best, which is why we ask for brand new coats with tags attached.

❣️Sizes needed: toddler (2T) through youth XL (adult sizes for teens)
❣️Both boys & girls styles welcome
❣️Stores like Old Navy & Gap often have warm, affordable puffer jackets!
If you’d like to join us in blessing these kids, please send us a message. We’ll provide drop-off details or a shipping address if that’s easier for you.
Together, we can make sure every child in foster care has a warm coat and a reminder that they are not forgotten. 💛

Message us or Email us ([email protected]) your name and email and we will provide Date + Time + Drop off location or Shipping Address soon.

➡️ Share this with your family and friends! Team work will make the dream work with this winter coat drive!

The world is full of challenges, but there are still incredible families saying “yes” to opening their hearts and homes to vulnerable kiddos. The selflessness and sacrifice they show is truly inspiring! 💛

We’re so grateful for our amazing church congregation, who provided gift boxes for children in foster care at Project You Belong. The remaining boxes are still making their way into foster homes, bringing smiles and hope to kids as they navigate such tough situations.

Thank you Gateway Church for being part of this journey—your generosity continues to make a real difference.
