Silent night? Not exactly.
For so many foster families, Christmas week sounds more like doorbells ringing late, phone calls coming fast, and hearts racing as they say yes to a child who needs safety and care right now.
In those first chaotic moments of a new placement, “all is calm, all is bright” often feels a world away… but being alone doesn’t have to be part of their story.
That is where Child Hope steps in — creating a space where community gathers around foster families with the practical items, resources, and encouragement they need to care well for the little ones who just stepped foot in their home.
A few days ago, a family opened not just their door, but their routines, their holiday plans, their sleep, and their hearts to a sweet little one during Christmas week. And because of a community locking arms and meeting needs, we get to tangibly show them they are seen, known, and cared for — we want them to know, “You’re not doing this alone.”
To every foster parent saying yes in the middle of the mess, the late-night calls, and the not-so-silent nights: your brave yes is holy ground. You are making room — in your home and in your heart — and that looks a lot like Christmas to us.
