Cambridge Springs Vol. Fire Department

Busy day for CSVFD today. At 11:33 a dispatch was sent out for a working garage fire within Cambridge boro limits on main street. While enroute to the station about a mile out chief 3 observed a smoke header and requested a second alarm due to low manpower during daytime working hours. At 11:38 engine 3-1 went enroute. 3-1 arrived on scene at 11:40 reporting a working fire with heavy fire showing and chief 3 taking command. At 11:49 chief 3 marked most of the fire knocked down. Crews remained on scene for just over an hour taking care of hot spots. A huge thanks to all our mutual aid who assisted on our fire and kept damage fairly contained.

Before being back in service CSVFD was dispatched for a lift assist, a fall victim next to the station, and an MVA also right next to our station. Busy day for dept 3.

Today at 1:30pm CSVFD was alerted for a structure fire assist to Venango Vol Fire Department 25. CSVFD units 3-1, 3-5, and 3-14 responded. Upon arrival of VVFD personnel reports of smoke and fire were given. 3-1 arrived on scene with a crew of two stretching an attack line to the second story where the fire was believed to be. The interior crew was met with heavy smoke in a second story bedroom and gained access to the wall cavity that had a secondary false wall built in front of the balloon frame construction. Ultimately due to balloon frame construction the fire began in the wall of the first story but quickly traveled to the second story wall and the porch roof. Unfortunately extensive smoke and water damage to the house occurred but fire spread was kept to a minimal area. The cause is believed to be an electrical and/or appliance malfunction but has not been confirmed. CSVFD was back in service around 5 pm after equipment cleanup was completed.

Rest easy Kevin. We always were met with a welcoming smile going to mill village for standbys and he was a familiar face coming to support and help at our fundraiser events.

Please use common sense and wait for rain to burn...... ground might be muddy but the vegetation is dry and ignights easily

Warmer and dryer weather...... good time to burn? NOT SO FAST!!! Please use common sense and caution if burning outside. Most of PA is in a "MODERATE" risk of forest fires today. Don't leave your fires unattended, and be prepared to extinguish them BEFORE they can get out of hand.

Thank you everyone for the amazing support during our fish fry. We averaged around 150 meals every week! We appreciate everyone being patient while we figured this out. We are extremely happy with how everything went for our first time doing it. We are open to ideas of other dinner ideas for maybe a couple more throughout the summer if there is enough interest!
