Last night The Dorchester County Council voted to keep the Dorchester county Burial site Preservation Board we are very excited by this decision and plan to continue to be an organization that strives to protect and preserve History and Dorchester County Maryland Burial sites.

The Dorchester County Burial site Preservation Board is Encouraging anyone who has a burial sites on there property or sees one in there travels to share there photos and location here ! Dorchester County has many "missing" or "lost' Burial sites who knows you may find one that no one has observed in Decades !

This November 8th we have an event planed for anyone who is interested in the preservation of Dorchester County Maryland's Grave sights or if you just enjoy history in general come check it out.

this is a very surprising large site with approximately 20 Graves more or less this is not accessible by road you must cross a large creek,ditch closet road to the site is Toddville RD

This was our first event at Nause-Waiwash Band of Indians' 33rd Annual Native American Festival on September 13th these pictures may be a lil delayed but we wanted to say thank you to our volunteers at the event to spread the importance of preserving our burial sites here in Dorchester County MD

Thomas Holliday Hicks (September 2, 1798 – February 14, 1865) was a politician in the divided border-state of Maryland during the American Civil War. As governor, opposing the Democrats, his views accurately reflected the conflicting local loyalties. He was pro-slavery but anti-secession. Under pressure to call the General Assembly into special session, he held it in the pro-Union town of Frederick, where he was able to keep the state from seceding to join the Confederacy.
